In honor of Fat Tuesday I thought I’d take a little study on Catholicism, Protestants. History and the Bible.
People go for many years studying the Bible (sometime just one version at that- KJV only ) Guess what? – The Catholic Bible is NOT the same. It has all of the same books the protestant one does, plus a few that the protestants took out.. Now what’s that about?
Then I heard that Constantine ‘started’ Catholicism, uh….. that’s a newsflash.
I think folks may be getting Constantinople and Constantine confused, Constantinople was a Roman Church hub in the early days. Sure, he was a big player in the Catholic Church, but he didn’t ‘begin’ it. And yes, these ‘books,’ (included) or rather, letters, were written before that time, along with scores of OTHER ones.
The Council of Nicene/Nicea is where they decided what ones would REMAIN. Later, Christians took MORE of them out. King James, when establishing that favorite version, employed over 40 translators who would make sure the translation followed the doctrine of the Church of England, now known as Episcopal, which was established by yet ANOTHER King, Henry VIII so he could change the rules and get divorced and remarried.
So , I think the point here in this post is that the ‘BOOK’ that many claim to be the ONLY historical record has quite a history of its own, influenced by world powers to give them power politically .
Catholicism – Not Christian?
I beg to differ, ARE Christians, as they follow John 3:16 just as protestants do do, the same Bible (plus a few extra books) and again,I think people confuse “Christian” with “Protestant.” They are NOT Protestants. If you’ve study Catholicism, you then know the definition of the word, which means “Universal.” It was the universal church, ruling all world governments and thus their subjects, for many moons. Until Henry VIII and Martin Luther decided to make some changes, and now every Tom, Dick and Harry is doing the same thing.
Catholicism is a mixture of Pagan and Christian?
So why do many churches celebrates Easter when it does and has Easter EGG hunts? Is that why Christmas is when it is and you have a Christmas TREE? There are numerous similarities in seasonal holidays between the Christian Church and Paganism, as well. And The Catholic Church existed BEFORE the Protestants, so how could it be a mixture of THAT??
Was Jesus a Christian?
It ALL leads back to Judaism. Jesus was JEWISH. He had a different take on everything, came here to try and knock some sense into people, and all they had to do is LOOK and LISTEN, as has been pointed out here, and stop all this bickering.
The Catholic ‘denomination’ has been responsibile for many atrocities, and so have many Protestant, or Christian as is said, denominations.
The Native Americans – there’s been numerous denominations who have killed their culture, beliefs and people – burned, raped and plundered. All in the name of God. So, forget all of the interpretations being made over the years by mere people who were mostly world leaders trying to turn their ‘people’ into ‘sheeple’ for power’s sake, and read the words of Jesus and his friends and followers who KNEW him.
Consider ALL the Texts
There are MANY other places you can read that other than the limited number of books in the Bible which has been manipulated by world leaders throughout time, and just stick with his message and instructions. Simply try to become as close to God and be his mouth and voice on earth.
Hey, God gives us FREE WILL, which many don’t seem to be willing to do. Aggressive ‘witnessing’ threats and radical extremism turns people away from faith in this bloggers opinion.

So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and Demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and Its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, Even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and Bow to none. When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the food and For the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, The fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and nothing, For abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts Are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes They weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again In a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

This was posted back in 2011 and I don’t remember writing it. It sounds like it was influenced by a rather intelligent musician I was dating at the time. In fact she probably wrote it and I simply edited and or plagiarized it. Do I still agree with this post? Probably yes.
